Kalalayam

 Project Kalalayam is a comprehensive experiential educational empowerment program designed to equip students across Kerala with critical life skills, soft skills, and future-ready competencies. While Kerala is well-known for its high literacy levels, research highlights a significant gap in career readiness skills such as emotional intelligence, problem-solving, adaptability, entrepreneurial thinking, and awareness of emerging careers in fields like Artificial Intelligence. Kalalayam bridges this gap by complementing traditional education with practical, age-appropriate interventions that prepare students to succeed in life, career, and society.

In 2025–26, the project will reach 10,000 students across schools, colleges, ITIs, and polytechnics, with special focus on under-resourced institutions. The program is delivered through two core domains: 

• Foundational Development - covering WHO-aligned life skills for school students and employability-oriented soft skills for college students.

• Future Readiness & Innovation - introducing students to Artificial Intelligence, digital marketing, and entrepreneurship through sessions.

The initiative is implemented through multiple interventions and hybrid model combining offline and online sessions, facilitated by subject matter experts which ensures inclusivity, flexibility, and reach, particularly in rural and underserved areas.

Aligned with National Education Policy (NEP 2020) and the UN Sustainable Development Goals ( SDG 4 & 10), the project envisions building a generation of confident, capable, and socially responsible youth who can thrive in an innovation-driven world. Through sustained partnerships with educational institutions, community stakeholders, and corporate volunteers, Kalalayam aspires to be a model for holistic, future-focused education in Kerala. Together, we aspire to build a future where education is not just about academic success, but about shaping empathetic, socially responsible individuals who can thrive in an innovation-driven world and uplift those around them.
